Parents of school-age children have an excellent opportunity to attend a skill-building workshop with Dr. Laura Kastner from the University of Washington this month.
On Tuesday, April 26, Laura will lecture on "7 Tools to Help Your School-Age Child Thrive" at St. Thomas School, 8300 N.E. 12th St., in Medina. The lecture runs from 7-9 p.m. and tickets are $20 (purchase here).
From the lecture synopsis: "Healthy, successful, kind and wise—we all want this for our kids, but not every variable is within our control. How can we tell what we can influence, and what we can't? How do we choose our battles, and then arm ourselves with the skills to succeed? Parenting expert and author Dr. Laura Kastner will spend the evening on seven major areas of practical skill-building for parents—think technology issues and middle school years."
This lecture is part of ParentMap's 2011 lecture series.
