Congratulations Charles!

Bellevue Club member Charles Nguyen recently attended the 33rd annual Can-Am International Championships, one of the most prestigious martial arts tournaments in Canada. At the July tournament, he placed first in forms (kata) and second in sparring (kumite) and finished as best all-around forms champion in the 18 and older black-belt division.

Sensei James Penor, who leads the Karate Club at the Bellevue Club, said of his student, "Charles trained diligently and always does his best, thus winning many local and international competitions. He is definitely one of the leading karate practitioners here in the Northwest."

BC wins Health and Wellness Program of the Year


The Bellevue Club's new wellness programming, including the popular Your Body Your Life program, recently won the Health and Wellness Program of the Year award. Given to the Club by the National Association of Club Athletic Directors, it was presented at the NACAD national conference at the Arbutus Club in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The National Association of Club Athletic Directors consists of premier clubs throughout the United States and Canada.

See the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra Wednesday


Celebrate July 4th at Downtown Park in Bellevue--and see the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra play! Per tradition, they will perform before the fireworks and during the fireworks with a synchronized program. In addition to BYSO members, those playing at the Symetra Bellevue Family Fourth include former Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra members and coaches of BYSO.
