Meet Bellevue Club Trainer Jennifer Saltzman


Name:  Jennifer Saltzman

Certifications/Degrees:  Bachelor of Arts in modern dance, Pilates Instructor certification, Integrative Medicine certification, Metabolic Typing Advisor certification

Area of Expertise (or special certifications):  Pilates, specifically in the areas of deep and effective full-body integration and connection, chronic neck and shoulder problems, and nutrition and diet.

What can clients expect out of a training session with you?  A great full-body workout, in which they learn to initiate movement from the core, work on flexibility, balance and much improved body awareness. I help clients “find their core,” which includes finding muscles they did not know they had and involves much more than just the abs.

What is your own greatest physical or fitness-related accomplishment?
Overcoming old dance injuries and health challenges through a myriad of healing modalities, therapies and nutritional wisdom; being able to do things now that I could not do for years.

What is the most rewarding part about being a personal trainer? 
Helping clients become much more body aware and efficient in their movement, and seeing clearly that what I am teaching them is really making a difference.

What is your No. 1 piece of advice for people who have a fitness goal, whether it is to lose 10 pounds or complete an Ironman?
Commit to your process, do something every day toward your goal, and support yourself with excellent nutrition and physical activities that keep you balanced (i.e. stretching, breathing and meditation). Also, listen to your body: take a day off if you are too tired.

What is one fitness-related misconception that drives you crazy?  
That just increasing exercise and cutting calories will necessarily produce weight loss for everybody.

What is your favorite song/artist to workout to? Silence


What is your favorite pre-workout nutritional routine?  Drinking Pollen Burst and a good breakfast with protein.

What is your favorite post-workout recovery meal? Drink Rebound. Eat plenty of protein, veggies and good fats.

What is the one thing you find yourself repeating over and over again to clients?
Shoulders down, stomach in.

Is there anything else you think sets you apart as a trainer?
My teaching is very much informed by the subtleties of body connection, my training as a dancer, and a strong intuitive sense. Through years of observing the power of implementing even a slight shift in intention and position, I am able to assist clients to quickly and increasingly deepen their core connection and awareness. I also enjoy working particularly with the ever-so-common challenge of neck and shoulder tension.

Congratulations Bellevue Club Boyz softball team!


Last Wednesday, the Bellevue Club Boyz smashed team Trane Wreck at Marymoore Park. They knocked them right out of the park with scores of 15-0 and 19-1. The team is currently in fifth place in the Eastside/Bellevue Adult Softball League. Teammates David Trujillo and Dayton DeMello recount their epic win with pride. Team manager Dayton says, “Whether or not we win or lose, we are just out there to have fun. The team is a great way to get to know co-workers outside of work.”
