Bellevue Club member Charles Nguyen recently attended the 33rd annual Can-Am International Championships, one of the most prestigious martial arts tournaments in Canada. At the July tournament, he placed first in forms (kata) and second in sparring (kumite) and finished as best all-around forms champion in the 18 and older black-belt division.
Sensei James Penor, who leads the Karate Club at the Bellevue Club, said of his student, "Charles trained diligently and always does his best, thus winning many local and international competitions. He is definitely one of the leading karate practitioners here in the Northwest."
Congratulations Charles!
