UPCOMING EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Aug. 2 Bellevue Botanical Garden Society Annual Trillium Celebration, 7 – 9 pm, location to be determined at a later date. NOTE: This event is NOT at the Garden. FREE for members, $30 for non-members. Special guest speakers will be Kelly Dodson and Sue Milliken from Far Reaches Farm. Dessert and coffee will be served following the meeting. Aug. 6 Music in the Garden, 5:30 – 8:30 pm at Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main Street, Bellevue. Admission is FREE. Pack a picnic dinner and a blanket to spread on the lawn for a special night of family entertainment and music in the Garden. The Fabulous Roadstars will provide excellent Dixieland music for your enjoyment. Genii Blue the Clown will entertain the kids. No alcoholic beverages and no pets, please. Aug. 20-21 Eastside Fuchsia Society Plant Show and Sale, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main St. Featuring a great selection of plants from Eastside gardeners. For more information, visit bellevuebotanical.com or call 425-452-2750.

Aug. 26-28 Art in the Garden, 10 am – 6 pm at Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main Street, Bellevue. Sculptures and garden art by twenty outstanding Northwest artists will grace the gardens, each in its own private space. From the serious and simplistic to the whimsical and elaborate, exhibits will include works in metal, wood, blown and fused glass, bronze and other outdoor-appropriate materials. Sept. 10 Northwest Perennial Alliance Fall Plant Sale, 10 am – 2 pm, Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main Street, Bellevue. Wrap up the gardening yearwith bargains galore. Shop for plants that add fall and winter interest to the garden, including perennials from the famous NPA Border and an array of plants from specialty nurseries. Hot coffee and tents in case of inclement weather. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the NPA Border. For more information go to northwestperennialalliance.org.

June – Sept. Garden d’Lights Work Parties at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main Street, Bellevue. If you’ve participated in one or more Garden d’Lights classes, you are invited to come help this summer with preparations for our annual Garden d’Lights celebration. Participants will help make and repair flowers and/or critters to be placed in the garden this coming November and December. Once you attend a class and sign in with your contact information (email preferred), you will be on the Work Party notification list and receive notices of upcoming classes.
