Watch out for text neck

We've known for awhile that technology, while giving us a variety of conveniences, also brings with it a variety of problems. The website Mental Floss highlights some of these latest problems including:

• Text Neck--looking down at a mobile device for long periods of time can result in alignment issues, pain and numbness.
• Ear Bud Oblivion--pedestrian accidents have tripled since 2006 according to a University of Maryland Medical School study. One of the culprits might be ear buds. These little headphones prevent pedestrians from hearing oncoming cars.
• iPad Shoulder--similar to text neck, hunching over an iPad or other tablet to watch television and movies or read a book, can result in pain and numbness.
